with tubes and drips inserted
cold and quiet pervaded the still air
I gazed at her but my hope's above
"When will she wake up?" I asked
It broke my heart at hearing the remark
"She might get worse; you'd better prepare!"
I sought comfort and peace through prayers
I reflected on the piercing words
What life would bring without my wife?
A weary soul, I prayed and pleaded
To Man of Sorrows I drew near
Immense joy warmed my heart
No more in mask and machines at last
I gazed at my wife's open eyes
which shone like stars in a pitch-dark night
Her face and smiles soon cheered me up
I praise the Lord that it's history
My wife improved day by day
She came back to the family's fold
In praise of Him for strength and grace
received in my most trying days
Surely heaven rejoiced
over her recovery from a nasty stroke
