His devious plan was to betray Christ and he was well paid as he knew he would be. The key would be a kiss!
To use a kiss, which is a sign of love to perform an act of such hate on the Son of The God of love was unforgivable.
Yes, I believe that Jesus knew his plan!
He knew it from the beginning, even as he knew he was a thief on the day He gave him the job of keeping the purse that first day.
As they ate the broken bread and drank wine together that day, He knew the culprit’s plan. Yet he sent him on his way to perform the unthinkable act. His words tell us that he knew.
“The Son of Man goes as it is written of him.” said Jesus “Woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had never been born”.
The betrayer’s answer “Rabbi, is it I?” speaks of his pretentious humility. {Matthew 26: 21- 25;Luke 22:21-23}.
What deceit! What guile! He was a man possessed by satan the deceiver, so what other fruit could Judas produce?
