God invites us, “If you will let Me, I will be the Daddy you never had!”
“Daddy”, a wonderful, loving name. If I think about calling God, “Daddy”, it makes my heart grow fonder. It helps me to see the intimate, loving, caring and precious Father-child relationship God desires to have with all of us—me and you!
Maybe you have been hurt by your father, maybe he left you, your mom or siblings—alone and confused. Maybe because of your relationship with your father, you are insecure and trust no-one. If that is you, I would like to invite you to see your true Daddy—God. He was, is and always will be your true Daddy! Our earthly fathers are given to us for a short period of time, but they can never take God’s place in our lives, no matter how perfect or imperfect they are!
Maybe you do not have a very good picture of God because of the picture you have of your father. Well, it is understandable, but do not let that have the final say. Do not lose out on the One Father you have always had. Ask God to help you to let go of your hurt, insecurities and pain and see God standing in front of you with arms wide open, inviting you to walk into His embrace. Allow Him to be your Daddy! A Daddy that never fails you and never leaves you. He is always by your side.
The pain we experience in our relationships on earth can cause us to either run to God or cause us to build walls between us and Him. It is our choice. But God, as your Daddy wants to heal the wounds inside of you—He wants to heal the wounds of your brokenness and separation that came between you and Him.
There is no easy answer that will take your pain away. There is no magic wand that God can wave over you and make it all better. It takes a lot of time and relationship with Him to walk back to restoration and wholeness.
The more time we spend in our relationship with God, the more healing will we receive and we will start to see the world through God’s eyes. Being in a relationship with our Daddy bring us to a rest and completeness in Him that nothing else can offer us. When we have a healthy relationship with Daddy God, we will see the result flow through to all our relationships and experience fullness in Him.
Jesus died on the cross and was forsaken so that God never has to forsake us again. God can now stand by us through everything we encounter because Jesus already took the punishment for our sins. He took our sins in exchange for His righteousness so that we can stand in God’s presence in spite of what we do, because who we are in Christ make us righteous.
I believe that today, God has the following to say to each one of us: “Call Me your Daddy, and I will show you how to be My child…”
Be courageous and allow Him to be that for you!
