TITLE: Bravo! Snowdrop ! Bravo | Previous Challenge Entry

on the enormous shimmering floor
Impressed, I asked her for advice
How you survive the harsh winter
“It’s Bouncebackability !” she told me.
Just like the snowdrop at the snowy field
that thrives in cold winds and strong storms
we need to be resilient
and not to quit too quickly
press on and don’t get weary
Just like the snowdrop touching base
with the ground ,trying to secure
the longest term within the coldest months ,
we will endure the toughest tests
required of a renowned sport star
Just like the snowdrop that fights hard
with her tight cap and stout stem --through the
indifferent ice, the stubborn snow, the sunless soil,
“We will not be quitters or pushovers”;
“We will stay steadfast, sure, and strong!”
Just like the snowdrop, watching out,
has to resist narcissus flies
whose larvae can destroy her life;
Stop the strife and hypocrisies-
they will impede our life in Christ
Just like the snowdrop, small but wise
maneuvering her way through the thick snow
while other plants are playing in Disneyland;
we will stay buoyant in witnessing
without abating and malingering
Just like the snowdrop that survives against
the odds: it braves the chill and the harsh gale
We will endure and wait for the fresh Wind
He will lift up our drooping hands
and strengthen our knees that are weak
Just like the snowdrop that adorns
her hair with the white hat and prays
We are refreshed once more
by our need to trust and obey
He’ll see our ships through the stormy bays
Just like the snowdrop that lives for
one winter, and call it a day
it still lives life to the ful-lest Bravo!
Perhaps, unimpressive we are,
our faults and failures are many; but they
don’t invalidate God’s at work in us Bravo!
Notes
This is an allusion to a snowdrop which I saw through a hostel window in London several years ago and was thoroughly amazed by the sight-its robustness in piercing the snow, standing alone in the carpeting snow. Truly, it must be God’s wonderful creation. This week’s topic helps trigger off the memories stored away in the inner recess of my mind. Like a snowdrop the recollection starts to surface again.
