Jeffery told me that a lot people appeared to know Jesus very well. Upon my reading of each article, I was amazed on how many had a different picture of who Jesus was.
“I didn’t know that it would be so easy to google someone and there before me was a wealth of information.” Jeffery told me as he sipped on his ice tea. “Katie, can you help me with this information, how can I really know the true story?”
I was really stoked up about Jeffery’s wanting to know who Jesus was and I was being given the chance to tell him.
“Ok, Jeffery, have you tried to get any answers from the Bible?” I asked. Jeffery’s face told me that he had not.
“Nah, Katie, I wouldn’t know where to start.
What made you start asking about Him?”
“I heard a couple of guys talking, they were having an intense conversation about Jesus and they asked my opinion- I told them not to get me into it. But Katie I couldn’t say anything because I didn’t know. Up till now I didn’t care- didn’t believe and that was ok with me. But now I am not sure, something is telling me to find out about Him and to get to the truth. Something is nagging at me to do it now.”
“Jeffery that could be the Holy Spirit tugging at you to seek God, That’s part of His job; He is part of the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We can talk about all of this later. What you want to know is if all of this talk about Jesus is real.”
I opened my Bible as I continued. “Come set here beside me I have something I want to read to you.”
Jeffery pulled up a chair; he looked at me as I was turning the pages.
“See Jeffery, God’s Word is alive and infallible. Your faith in God will come as you read His word, seek Him and let the Holy Spirit come in to your heart. Listen to this; His words have always been for us, then and now. John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” I watched as I saw the look of uncertainly in Jeffery turn to hope.
“I wonder what Jesus would think in this day and age about being able to type in His name and all this information comes in about Him, and no one has to travel. This means that people can do this no matter where they live.
“What are you thinking about all of this now, Jeffery?”
“He smiled as he studied my face, Katie, you opened up to me the reason to search more, and I am going to do this, will you help me?”
“I will. It will be a pleasure to help you and I know if you are willing to come to church it will help you a lot, it sure did me. Between a good Bible based church and a good Pastor to guide you, you will soon grow in God’s Word. Do you have a Bible?”
“Not yet, but I intend to get one.”
“This one is the New King James version.”
“I feel that very soon the Holy Spirit will help you with coming to Jesus and giving your heart to Him very soon. When that happens all these things will become clear and the Bible will open up to you as you read about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.”
“When you take this step, Jeffery, it can be in church, or at home. Just kneel and yield to the Spirit as He guides you to your own personal relationship with Jesus.
“None of us are complete till we do, and making that decision insures our eternity with Jesus. It’s the ones who do not make that decision that are in jeopardy of an eternal separation from Him forever.”
“Sounds kinds of harsh, doesn’t it, but trust me Jeffery, it’s the real deal.” He’s the real thing.”
“Thanks, Katie, you’ve help me a lot.”
I knew the Holy Spirit was at work in Jeffery.

You might want to review your quotation usage in this entry however. Some are missing and it makes following the conversation very hard to do. Here is an example: “Nah, Katie, I wouldn’t know where to start.
What made you start asking about Him?”
A close quotation is missing at Start, and an open quotation is needed at the beginning of What.
Nevertheless, a very inspiring story. Keep writing.
God Bless!
