A battle began. The force that reigns over wickedness and sin came forth, luring common sense with lies and deceit. A once trusted knowledge had now fallen prey to confusion. The force seized the disposition in its vulnerable state and latched onto it with its immoral grip. It tempted, tormented and tortured. Blow after blow, it beat down hope and covered the light until the shadows concealed the Truth from its view.
A precious piece of His creation lay defeated by darkness. It seemed everything was gone, obliterated by the pounding force who haunted and weighed down life. Yet, a whisper filled an empty heart. The gentle voice of Truth calmly reminded of royal heritage -- this being was a child of the Heavenly King, the great I Am! Evil had no real power -- it trembled at His voice.
Striking back, His trustworthy words that were embedded years ago raised to the surface, above the lies, the deceit and the brokenness. Truths slay the darkness within. Victoriously, the chains were broken and knees dropped to the floor. Tears of anguish fell down the face as the head bowed and the prayer was set free.
The outgoing prayer lifted up to the heavens, carried by His promise and His light. It was set before the throne of God; He embraced it and filled it with His glory. The angels rejoiced, for another captive prayer had entered the throne. He released it, and the answer was given -- salvation through Jesus Christ!
