The changing of leaves comes to mind
These delicate signs of life are painted
Hues of crimson, yellow and a fires orange
Autumn’s wind plucks these leaves from an indignant tree
And scatters them throughout the earth
I open my bedroom curtains
And see one such a robbed tree
I wonder ‘Does that tree feel naked,
Cold, exposed and lonely?
Without its warming, whispering
Toque of comforting leaves
I stroll outside and see the branches
Trying to keep the last leaves from the wind
But, knowing what must happen
The barren branches yield
I, like the tree, know of coming growth
Though seasons change it is all God’s will
He strips away old, sinful leaves and nurtures inside
Preparing, me, and the tree for a green vibrant Spring
The best growth these changes bring
I s a deeper love for my Savior
His endless love, mercy and grace
Are the same yesterday, today and forever
