Real hair, shiny golden
Fine leather, sawdust stuffed
A gift, a legacy
From time long past
Beautiful, sweet, smooth
Eyes of shiny blue
Perfection, unharmed, unbroken
In one swift action
Your life is changed
You are quickly broken
China face in pieces
Leather body torn apart
Insides scattered all around
Eyes show dark sadness
You lie there broken
Scooping you up gently
Tears of sorrow flow
From my hurting heart
I weep for you
Gently, ever so gently
I pack your pieces
Into a plastic bag
Laying it to rest
In a safe drawer
I weep for you
Hoping I can find
A way to mend
To heal the breaks
Oh loving Father God
I come to you
A broken china doll
Only you can mend
The pieces torn apart
Forgive my resistant heart
One day the doll
Will be made whole
I came to you
As that broken doll
Only You could tell
Just what was needed
For mending every piece
According to your purpose
There were the pieces
You took them all
And made them whole

It always amazes me how people can write free verse that flows. I sure can't.
