As He comes closer, reaching out
I run and hide with fright
My life filled with doubt
Each day a new game of hide and seek
I move forward on tiptoe
Creeping toward His knowing gaze
Wondering at His powerful glow
Turning my face from the building blaze
Each day a new game of hide and seek
I seek to hide in the dark
So He won’t see my flaws
But I crave the life-giving spark
The light that continually draws
Each day a new game of hide and seek
I want Him to search my soul
I want Him to know me
Yet I want to hide in a dark hole
For He will not like what he will see
Each day a new game of hide and seek
The Shepherd finally reaches me
I cower before Him
He touches me ever so gently
I fear seeing His light dim
Each day a new game of hide and seek
His Light permeates my soul
Removing the darkness
And making me whole
As I finally surrender and say yes
The game of hide and seek finally over
He has searched my heart
And loves me still
Life and Love He will impart
As I surrender my will
I will not hide because he sought and found
I will now pass on the Light
Sharing its glimmer
Radiating throught the night
The fog reflecting its shimmer
So that anothers game of hide and seek can end
