"Oh, here's my shirt. I'll do some wash. That will make mom happy. (He gets some clothes, goes to the washing machine, puts them in with detergent, but is distracted by the dartboard). Ooh...almost a bulls eye..."(throws more darts for next few minutes, goes back in house without ever starting washer). The dog has gotten out.
"Come on...get in this house...you know you're not suppose to run in the street... where is the remote? click...(heart is pounding).
My chest hurts." click...turns on mom's stereo.
...and the verse of the day is from Psalm 46:10... "Be still and know that I am God."
"Be still and know that I am God?" GOD...you made me! I am ADHD with anxiety on the side!...Be Still...is not in what I do! It's boring!
Click... God whispers: "Yes, I did make you. Fearfully and wonderfully. Just think about me...talk to me when you are anxious. I listen. Next time you want to take that Xanax, say a prayer instead. If you concentrate on me, even for a minute and your heart is pounding...I promise to slow it down, take your burdens, help you to listen. You now the massages your mom gives you to help you relax? Let me massage your soul. We can work on this together."
"I'm so tired God. I need to rest...I need to concentrate on just one thing...and I know it is You.
Hey...I did it! ...I know...I know that He is God!"
