In the days when George Washington was president, who would have ever thought that someday we would have the telephone. Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Grey invented the telephone in 1870s. It later became commonplace in the american home and business. Since I was a kid they developed the cell phone. Now you can't go everywhere and stay in touch. Who would ever thought you could be outside in a middle of nowhere and be able to communicate to someone 500 miles away?
It can bring good news, sad news or you can cause you to laugh, and be a tool used by our Lord. Some sad phone calls I received were the death of my friend Paul. His grandma lived close to me, and she called me and told me when he died. He was a missionary in Albania.
I have gotten happy phone calls like being told that I got a job. that is always good news.
The Lord can use this devise to. Years ago when Billy Graham was still based in Minneapolis, Minnesota I went down to his headquarters on Harmon place in downtown Minneapolis After a crusade I led someone to the Lord on the telephone .I never thought I would lead anyone to the Lord.
Where would we be as a society today if we did not have a phone? From a Christian standpoint many people may have been saved because of the telephone.
