Parts of this article seemed to have rhythm and parts didn't. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I am no expert on poetry or prose, so I can't comment much on this aspect.

This is sweet. I especially like the line below.

"And she smiled love from her sick bed."

To "smile love" is a grandparent expression if I ever heard one.
