Topic: Mothers (05/02/05)
In the light of our wonderful new century, what does it take to be a mother, what does it mean to enter that envied group of women who have experienced the special bond existing between a child and his mother?

I believe I should be able to answer that question,
I believe I cannot rate the intensity of my love for my baby,
I believe I could make you love him just as much as I do,
I believe my love will protect him always from harm,
I believe I will work hard to keep him well and healthy,
I believe I will support him in growing and learning,
I believe he will love me always,
I believe he will know I love him always,
I believe he is a beautiful person,
I believe his soul shines so strongly anyone can see it,
I believe he will be there for me, when I am old and grey,
I believe he will remember my sleepless nights by his side,
I believe he knows I sit beside him in the dark,
When I promise I will protect him from fear,
I believe I know what a mother is,
But where do I start explaining….
I believe…
Well, I believe in him, and I trust myself in that.

I am not sure I got exactly what you want to say. Perhaps it's just me.

I would have liked to have seen a little more of a lead in here, letting me know more where the thoughts were coming from. But I thought the "I believes" to be on target for what moms think as they hold that child the first time. There faith is blind faith, they do go forward because they believe in life.
