“Please be seated for silent prayer, and then you are dismissed.” The service concluded.
Everybody quietly sat down and bowed their head. I descended half way and noticed Chun already started to pick up his Bible.
“Excuse me. Excuse me.” I whispered to the lady next to me and leaped out, then speed tiptoed down the sanctuary.
“Hey Rev. Chun!” My face flushed as I caught up to him outside the lobby.
“Oh, hi Tim,” he turned around. “How are you enjoying your fellowship?”
“Um, good. Thanks.” I smiled at him and felt a little shaking now that I got his attention. “Actually, if you have a little time, I was asked to have an one minute interview with you about your trip.”
“Sure, let’s walk out together.”
“Great! Okay.” I gathered my thoughts and flipped open my notebook. “So I guess the first thing I want to ask is that can you tell me a little bid about your ministry? Where are you going? And what are your roles?”
“Well, I’ll be going to China, but where exactly is not definite yet. China is still quite closed to foreign missionaries to preach the gospel there.”
“Nothing definite yet? Then what will you be doing there?”
“That’s not decided as well. But we will be working with a team of people, and I’ll be traveling back and forth a lot.”
“That’s not much of a plan.” I began to think that this is going to be difficult to write about, “I don’t get it. Why are you going to a place where you don’t know what you’ll be doing?”
“It is the result of a year of praying. I had several plans about what to do, but at the end, God took away each one except this burden. When I saw this in my heart, I became obedient. From then on, God started to pave everything for me, even now.”
“It’s going to be hard. There’s no telling what will happen.” I looked at him.
“It is a challenge I say, but He tells me to look at Him only. So, that’s how I am to go.”
“Is that all you need?”
“That is enough for me. Everything else I will trust God for His provision. He is my boss anyway.” He smiled at me and patted my back as we approached his car.
“Thanks.” I said and waved him goodbye. I stood while watching his car going, and then I looked at my pad. It was blank, but I sensed I can still deliver the message.
