Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Missionary (10/19/06)
It was late in the evening. Robert was tucking his daughter into bed. “Who do you want to pray first – you or me?” asked Robert. “You pray” was the response of five year old Victoria. Robert asked, “Who do you want to pray for tonight?” Victoria replied, “Missionaries.” Bowing their head together Robert prayed, “Lord thank you for all of the missionaries in our world. Thank you that they love people. Thank you that they are willing to lay aside their own desires to unselfishly and sacrificially serve others. Thank you that they are willing to provide for the needs of other people. Amen.”

Victoria began to pray, “Lord, thank you for Daddy and Mommy. They love me. They take me to McDonalds. They play with me. They take me to church. They watch TV with me. They give me toys. They are the best missionaries. Amen.”

Sitting on the edge of the bed, tears ran down his face. For the first time, Robert realized that in the eyes of his daughter, he and his wife Jill were missionaries to their Victoria. It is true that every parent has the responsibility of being a missionary to their children. The greatest investment made in the lives of children is time.

What I like- great truths here. Nice ending and start. Flowed nicely.
What I might change- It would have been nice to have it a bit longer but it worked great as a short devotional piece. Maybe break the dialogue into separate paragraphs when someone new is speaking.
Great content and that part is the most important part!
