Arden began writing early in her childhood, when she did it purely for her own enjoyment. Even now, as an adult, her love of reading and writing continues to be a major source of pleasure in her life. Upon her graduation from Mount Holyoke College, Arden honed her writing and editing skills by working at local publishing companies, where she served in different positions within their editorial departments. These skills have proved invaluable throughout her varied work history, where she has been responsible for publishing a range of materials from press releases, news articles, and training materials, to financial reports and documents.
Upon her conversion to Roman Catholicism, Arden realized that because her writing skills were a gift from God, they should be used to glorify Him. At her parish priest’s encouragement, she began journaling, then started to write articles for faith-based publications. In addition, Arden contributed liturgical writings to her parish during the time when she served on its Spiritual Life Commission.
When she began journaling, Arden was using it as a tool to help her understand the events of her life from a spiritual perspective. In her attempt to arrive at this understanding, she spent a lot of time examining events from other people’s perspective, trying to understand how their backgrounds and attitudes shaped their responses. This present work, Stations of the Cross: Through Their Eyes, is the direct result of this spiritual exercise, in which Arden attempted to view the events leading up to the crucifixion and death of Jesus from the perspective of diverse individuals. Stations of the Cross: Through Their Eyes is Arden’s first full-length book.
In addition to writing, Arden also enjoys craftwork, gardening, and home improvement projects. She lives in South Hadley, Massachusetts with the youngest of her three children, and 8 cockatiels.
