Candie A. Price is a native of Philadelphia, PA and is a Communications Studies major, specializing in Public Relations, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she is also enrolled in the Honors Program. Candie’s primary ministry has been the fellowship of Christian women and the fellowship of girls between the ages of 13-18.
“Changing the Lives of Women for Christ” is the motto for WOW! (Women of the Word) Women’s Ministry founded by Candie for Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL, where her husband, Rev. Arthur Price, Jr., is pastor. Candie says, “Our mission for this ministry has been to cultivate an intimate relationship between women and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to promote worship and fellowship among the women of our church and women of other churches in our community”. In addition , Candie is a gifted speaker and has lectured at women’s retreats and services in numerous cities. She is also a talented writer and received recognition for being an outstanding writer at the 2004 Best Writer’s Symposium at UAB.
Her life’s verse has been Isaiah 41:10: “Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Candie and her husband, Rev. Price, are the proud parents of two daughters, Eboni Paige and Amyna Janel and they presently reside in Birmingham, AL.
