TITLE: Queen of Doubt

I became a Christian as a young mother. There were a lot of doubts and I did not even really understand at the time the full extent of what had happened in my heart. My husband (who was saved at the same time) and I immediately joined a local church. Even as I grew in the Lord I experienced doubts about my salvation. One day I was sure and the next day I doubted again. My pastor assured me that I was saved but how could I know? I wanted black and white answers.
I knew John 3:16 well and stood on that verse. Jesus said – Whosoever – and I was the whosoever! But still Satan would whisper, “How do you really know?” “What makes you think you are so important?” “Do you feel different?” Sometimes I did, sometimes I didn’t.
I can tell you that there is no magic lamp to rub and get all the answers; nor is there an “Easy Button” to press. There is, however, His Word that gives us all the instruction we need. We just have to read it! It was in the Bible that I found the answer. I kept praying and seeking that I would find something that would remove my doubt. There I found my black and white answers!! God is so good!
In Ephesians I find I am sealed and guaranteed my inheritance!!
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV
In John I find He will NEVER cast me away and will stay with me FOREVER!
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one that comes to me I will by no means cast out.
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
John 14:16 NKJV
In I John I see that I can KNOW and CONTINUE to believe:
11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. I John 5:11-13 NKJV
These words are wonderful assurance of salvation from His Word to me, to all of us. When shadows of doubt threaten you, reach for His Word and be assured that He means what He says! Accept Him in your heart and Know that He has promised to abide with you forever; and He keeps His promises!
