While driving his wagon to town, Great-grandpa stopped to offer his pastor a ride, as he was walking the same direction. Gladly the minister accepted, hopping up to sit beside Grandpa.
Grandpa flicked the reins saying “giddap.” His donkey never moved a muscle. Grandpa tried again. “giddap.” Same result.
In vain, Grandpa tried to get the donkey going but the beast wouldn’t budge. Why? All he knew were swear words and Grandpa couldn’t swear in front of the parson.
