What is the color of sunshine? The color of the sunshine is intangible in its physical characteristics. However, it produces an ethereal quality that fills us with inner peace. The color of sunshine is somewhat similar to the love of God. Although neither can be seen with our physical eyes, both are felt in the deep recesses of our heart. The color of sunshine is the gleam of love in a child’s eyes. It is the soft glow of a warm fireplace on a cold winter night. It is the loving gaze of a mother as she looks for the first time at her newborn infant. The color of sunshine fills us with joy when we are down. It inspires us to enjoy God’s creation - to take a walk, work in our garden or play with our children. It is the dawn of a new day displaying God’s love, grace and harmony for the entire world to see. It is the soft sunset radiating myriad colors across the evening sky. The color of sunshine sparkles within us. It dances in our hearts and sings in our souls in harmony with God’s love.
What is God’s love? It is the gift of life He has blessed us with. It is the gift of family and friends. It is the ability to do our job. It is the laughter of children. It is the smile of a stranger passing by on the street. It is the soft caress of the wind on your cheek. It is the birth of a baby fresh from the arms of God now sleeping serenely in the arms of its mother. It is all these and so much more. It is sitting in silent adoration before the Tabernacle where Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. It is receiving our Lord reverently in Holy Communion and feeling His love within us. It is the heartfelt desire to attend mass because God is present - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is feeling His love reach down from the cross forgiving our soul and filling our heart. It is all these - and more. It is life-changing.
