We do not understand it while we are young.
It’s concept is irrelevant as we grow.
We try to adapt to it’s fast pace set by society
Our minds occupied trying to achieve our goals
Wanting to acquire the best of material belongings
To us it measures how well ours was spent
Rushing through this precious gift
Still not realizing it can never be replaced
We have now grown older
We begin to accept that we now have less of this gift
We ourselves have to slow down yet we feel it goes by faster
We begin to question how well ours was spent
Measuring what was accomplished against what was ignored
Things that were simple, maybe meaningless then
Things we can do tomorrow, but somehow tomorrow never comes
The corner office or reading bedtime stories to your children
An imported car or dinner with your family
The Country Club or visiting with your parents who watched over you
The extravagant house or reading and teaching God’s word
The one who made possible all you have
Now I ask, was what we accomplished worth all that we lost
How well did you spend your Time?
