TITLE: And For What Do I Live? By Christian Stafford 07/08/06 |

And for what do I live?
Those moments of connection
When the face is released from self
And pure joy shines through.
When the excitement of being
Overtakes the dull frame,
When the child glows,
And the adult is arrested by the instant beauty;
And sighing, lets it through.
I feel it, oh how I feel it!
I am in love.
I am connected,
I am in love
And it is not a daydream
But a waking reality.
And for what do I live?
Those solemn times of joy,
The chaotic mixture,
That causes me to laugh in the face of pain
And say maybe and perhaps and possibly so,
You are so very right and correct,
But I am alive!
I have a sense of being
Never before realized.
I am unique and alone and lonely
But I am alive,
And connected
And I am in love.
And your considerations are like sand
And your remonstrances like water
And I flow and I shake
And the spray scatters around me
In diamonds, in forget-me-knots,
And I am that happy animal,
I capture the moment,
I am held in the chrysalis of time
And I do not forget,
And I remember to remember
That times like this
Are what I live for.
