We feel excitement and worry before they are born
So much about a cruel, hateful world that we must warn
We dream of their future and "What Will They Be"?
Praying to the Lord they are better than me
We hear their laughter and see them cry as many of life's challenges go by
We meet their friends and people they date
Hoping they realize if they are bad or good before it's to late
We see their mistakes as they grow in age
Trying to guide them with love, not foolish rage
With each mistake we hope that they learn
Hoping the price that they pay is not more than they earn
As they get older we know they move on
Home is never the same after they're gone
We yearn for their phone call or a "Dropped By To Say Hello"
Then very saddened when they say "Time To Go"
We sit and think back on the years
Reminiscing about times of love, laughter and tears
We hope that our passing is long before their day
For their health and happiness we daily pray
If it so happens they pass before you
Pray the Lord took them where they get life anew
Praying to the Lord is the only way to get back the cost
For the bankruptcy of you soul after the demise of your child
