As I walked the road in life called “Journey”
I endured for many years,
One day I decided to take a new turn
That brought so many fears.
Life has so many doors to choose
It makes you so confused,
When a new door creaks open for you
That invites you to walk through.
I am strongly drawn towards it
And sounds like it calls my name,
But I do not look back
To see from where I came.
I decided to take a peek to look inside
A door that stands ajar,
And I glanced into the darkness
It just seemed so bizarre.
I started to shake with doubt and fear
But it just tugs on me,
I decided to take a closer peek inside
I just cannot flee.
Everything seemed so dark inside
I cannot see my way,
With salty sweat falling on my face
In a whisper I started to pray.
I see a dark tall shadow over my head
That followed me in my sight,
This shadow can only exist in the dark
Where there is a light.
Suddenly, I stopped and looked up
Shining, is a bright beam of light,
Jesus is there standing high and tall
Oh! What a beautiful sight.
I started to feel such a warm peace
That this is the right door,
My sight is now more transparent
And not dim as before.
He reached his outstretched arms to me
And I begin to shed a tear,
He touched my hand and with a smile
He said “I Am here”.
Have faith, I will never leave you alone
Do not fear any more,
Here you will find your “Victory”
This is your “Open Door.”
