The Ministry of Leaves
The many silent leaves are falling, as the playful wind loudly annouces their arrival. It was the wind that filled them with that sound. Their many colors blanket the countryside. Funny, they were never as beautiful in life as they are now. In helpless abandon, they seem to have surrendered. And now they glow in the warmth sun.
They kiss babies on their faces and then quickly fly away. They twirl and laugh in the streets and dodge around the corners. Majestically they dance to whistles in the wind as they ride way up high to minister to the trees.
The trees clap their hands to celebrate. With great abandon they bow down to surrender their collage of many colors. Into the wind that the Fall has swept in, they scatter across the sky to join in.
Once alone, they all now blend together. Their beauty now greater as a whole. They glow in the warmth of the sun and rest in nests full of sleepy baby animals, as they settle to await the next winds of fall.
