“Foolish people lose their tempers, but wise people control theirs.” Proverbs 29:11 (NCV)
I cannot tolerate things that don’t work. Some days I just want to take a sledgehammer an destroy my computer. Somehow, I’ll feel better
if I break it into a million pieces.
I use a machine the processes mail. I am always having trouble with it. When it acts up I start to yell at it.
I used to work in video production position at a local origination channel. We had video players that never worked properly. Some days, I wish I could take the player and drop it off a high building.
I have had to work with machinery all of my life and I have no tolerance for things that don’t work. The unfortunate thing is that would be a foolish mistake to destroy equipment, scream at it when I get mad.
The enemy came to steal kill and destroy. Satan knows my weaknesses and he exploits them every chance he gets. When I scream, how does that look to other people. What would Jesus think of my behavior. My shouting is not a very good Christian witness; it can make people turn away from the Lord.
There are two things that help me. First, I say, “Get away from me Satan.”
Second, pray and ask Jesus to help me when I am starting to fume, or pray before I turn my computer or my machine on. It has worked because the Lord has helped me keep calm.
I want to show people I am a Christ follower. I want people to go to heaven by my actions.
