FAITH’S JOYFUL JOURNEY
With life’s pilgrims of hope, I adventured a quest.
We trekked through the entitled bread and circus throng
Which dragged heavy feet, mired in mud of muddled wrong.
Our strong backs stretched, marched, with straight shoulders, hearts abreast.
We ignored cardboard fronts, sought life’s blue ribbons’ best.
In faith’s praise, lifted our tongues in triumphal song.
We met a cloned clown playing an out of tuned gong;
He yelped, “Journey, why? Sloth, gives one ‘sleep ‘n lo,’ rest!
And Sloth cradled a few, rocking them to-and-fro,
With mesmerize mutterings. By Sloth’s snores, ones found Marking down life’s value, par with the status quo--
Deciding willfully to drift mid doldrums’ bound.
Did this journey end in disease, “Why heavens no!”
Within many hearts whispers were heard, “Westward ho!”
I joined ones fathoming three words, Promise Land bound;
With God’s promises, faith journeyed with joyous sound!
I’m created to traverse my private owned view,
To adventure beyond my religious oak pew;
Stubborn Sloth hinders the way to life’s cutting edge,
Offering cradles of ease, demanding my pledge!
My allegiance embraces heaven’s Promise Land
And day-by-day, mid this journey, I understand
That backward living and looking birth not the new;
I hear God’s promise; but by faith I journey, too!
As I trek by faith, I also sing faith’s song through;
Sing with the voice of many waters, round by round!
With countless ones, I sojourn to the Promise Land;
Yes, I sing with many waters, Promise Land bound!

The evidence of things not seen. Heb.11:1
