JESUS IS OUR SHEPHERD
God never leaves us alone. He has always been there and will always be there. Rather than obeying God we continue without HIM. Because we wanted to be like GOD we believed HE was keeping something from us which would allow us to be like HIM. We did not trust and believe God. Because we desired to go it alone without HIM HE allowed us to go alone without HIM.
We did not understand or appreciate our need for God. We didn’t understand that GOD is the one who created us. Throughout the years God has allowed us to go it alone. Satan would have destroyed us but GOD did not allow him to do so. God was and is our protector although many refuse to acknowledge HIM. Is it because of our ignorance we desired to go alone and not know the truth? Is it because many believe we can alone without GOD. They fail to understand that we are mere sheep without a shepherd. We don’t understand and refuse to accept our need for a shepherd. Wars and senseless killings have not led us to stop and question “what is it all about? Do we care and desire to know the truth or do we want to continue to alone in darkness. We are sheep who are unable to go on our own and need a shepherd. We need GOD and HIS SON JESUS to be our shepherd. God heard our cry and saw our need. HE sent HIS son , JESUS to be our shepherd and lead us along the way.
Jesus , the good shepherd said: “I tell you the truth , anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheep fold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber. But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for HIM. (GOD is the gatekeeper.) and the sheep recognize HIS voice and come to HIM and come to HIM. HE calls HIS own sheep by name and leads them out. After HE has gathered HIS own flock HE walks ahead of them and they follow HIM because they know HIS voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t HIS voice.” I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will l find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”(John 10:6-10)
Satan hates the sheep and seeks to destroy them. He pretends to be our god and shepherd. How many ignorantly follow him to death and hn 10:hndestruction? Satan deceives many because they ignorantly believe him. Like satan some believe they can go it alone and do not need GOD. They do not understand and foolishly toy with things they don’t understand their correct usage. Lord GOD please open our eyes so that they may see and believe. We must humble ourselves and acknowledge we have been deceived. After acknowledging this truth, we must ask for forgiveness and express our desire to be a part of the fold. GOD will not make us enter if we refuse to enter.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices HIS life for the sheep. A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he is not their shepherd. and so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. The hired man runs away he’s only working for the money and does not really care for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd; I know MY own sheep and they know ME . Just as MY FATHER knows ME and I know the FATHER. So I sacrifice MY life for my sheep. I have other sheep too and or not i n this sheep fold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice and there will be one flock with one SHEPHERD.
“The FATHER loves me because my life so I may take IT back again. No one can take MY life from ME. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay IT down when I want and also to take it up again. For this is what MY FATHER has commanded.”(John 10:11-18)
