Encouragement
I have watched orchestras play, especially watching closely those more famous ones. When Leonard Bernstein would rehearse his musicians (The New York Philharmonic) he was dogged with them. They rehearsed so much that they did not need to look at their sheet music unless absolutely necessary-it was memorized. Even then, that was rare because of their professionalism and expertise.
All the musicians had to do was keep their eyes on the Conductor. When he pointed that was when they played. Then all they had to do was watch how he moved, i.e., his tempo. Until he pointed they waited with anticipation; I'm sure even with excitement as well as joy. They knew they had a part in the performance.
Watch for the Conductors face! Don't get ahead of Him. When He points at you, watch His tempo, His pace, His speed. Those who wait on Him are not reactive, even if feeling impatient. Know your sheet music and look where His part for you occurs. He has gifted you to play in His song.
1. Memorize the music. Especially your part:
"Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You."~Psalm 119:11
2. Keep your eyes on Him, waiting for His leading:
"But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."~Isaiah 40:31
3. Through the unity of an orchestra, glorify the Lord:
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."~John 17:20-23
4. Follow the Conductor's example, what He has shown you to play:
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."~Hebrews 12:1-2
See the Conductor's face,
and you will see His hand.
Move by His directing grace;
only at His command.
Let Him make you sensitive
to His divine rhythm.
Avoid being restive,
but move just to His wisdom.
Now hear the lovely song you play
with what He has shown you.
Know His word; by it, pray.
Your part will be true.
Those who are in the band,
each will play his part.
Be in the Conductor's hand;
privileged to play His heart.
The audience will be amazed,
the Master and His Musicians.
Indebted, they'll be, just to praise
the Lord's holy mission.

It's even better with the added scripture.
This is really beautiful. I love the split, talking of the orchestra then the poem encouraging us to watch our King for His direction.
