We often have pity on Peter who betrayed the Lord God when an oppurtunity came in his life to glorify the Lord, however how many times do we betray our Lord?
"Then he began to curse and swear, "I do not know this Man of whom you speak!"
A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, "Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times." And when he thought about it, he wept."
Mark 14:71-72 (New King James Version)
One of the meanings of betrayal is deserting especially in time of need.
If we are able and equipped to extend help and efforts, yet knowingly if we back out or desert, it is equivalent to betrayal.
God has enabled us, equipped us and wants to see us working for Him with all that He has blessed us with, however are we faithful to Him? do we honor Him at all times?
Peter failed to stand up for the Lord, He lacked faith and boldness in the Lord, however do we stand up for Jesus when there is a need?
If we look around, we will find innumerable oppurtunities to exercise our talents and resources.
God has promised this to us....
"'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away."
Matthew 25:29
When we do not use what God has given us, we actually reject Him, we actually betray Him.
Dear Ones!!! God made things simple, His ways are perfect, walk in them, His power is abundant, exercise it, His promises are always true, get them fulfilled by perfect obedience.
