"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"-Psalm 133:1
HOLY SPIRIT, BRING US YOUR WISDOM AND UNITE US IN YOUR PERFECT LOVE, AMEN
How amazing that as I was looking for a verse to write on this morning, the Lord led me to this one! It's so timely, that my church and another church are uniting to become one. It seems the Lord led me to the perfect verse for this particular season.
Jesus said that a house divided cannot stand. Imagine a house split in two, one half of the house goes one way, the other goes another, but they both fall. Imagine a home, united. Those who live within in dwell in safety. and peace. When a home is on a secure foundation, and all of the bricks are united, there is a steadfast and secure dwelling place for its inhabitants.
It is God's will that His body unites! In these last days, there will be many trials, but if we come together and become the Body that God intends for us to be, we will be strong, in that we are relying on Him, and being obedient by sticking together. My friend has a saying "there is no such thing as a lone ranger Christian"-I have found this statement to be true, in my own personal life, so I can certainly endorse this statement!
When a church isolated itself, it becomes of very little use, because no one knows who they are, though when two churches unite, or when churches come together in His name, for His glory the world notices! We are called to be examples for the rest of the world, and I think when the world sees us working together, they begin to see more of what kind of God we serve. One who is worth coming together for. One who is worth putting aside our differences in denominations, styles of worship, doctrine, rules, etc, and coming together in JESUS name! Is His name not above petty differences? Is His name not above the misunderstandings of the past? Is it not good and pleasant when brothers come together in unity????
Dear Lord-bring your people together in these last days for Your glory, and help us rid of any dissent that would keep us from doing so!
In your sweet name,
Amen

Very true and timely. Unity and community are both necessary and essential parts of the Christian life. Thanks for the reminder.
