Let us look at two friends, John and Kerry, who have been living together in the same apartment. They like each other and people in the community think they are twins because they do things the same way. So it happens Kerry meets a man in his working place, and the man told him he needed somebody to use for a sacrifice in his village. He asked if Kerry could get him somebody.

This man promised to give him a promotion in the office, they discussed the issue secretly. Kerry told him he needed some time to think about the issue. When he got home, he did not tell John what he discussed with his boss, he kept the secret away from his friend because he needed the promotion. He wanted to get married soon. He said to himself, since John is my close friend I can deceive him and take him to this man in order to have enough money for my wedding ceremony and be in a better position in the office.

I will look for another new friend. This is Kerry thinking for his friend. He makes a great decision to betray their friendship like we today betray the friendship between man and God. So when Kerry gets back to the office the next day he informed his boss that he has gotten him a person for his ritual. The man asked who the person is. Kerry answered and said my friend John. He explained he would ask John to follow him and bring him to the man’s place. They both agreed to meet by the bush side. The boss said just bring him and leave the rest to me, I know how to handle the situation.

When Kerry got home he told his friend that they would both be going to see his boss in his house that they had an appointment. Kerry had made up his mind on what he was going to do. It was 5:00pm on Saturday when the two friends embarked on their journey; John was in the front while Kerry was at the back. When they got to a particular point, Kerry removed one of his sandal legs, but John did not know what was happening. They kept going. It sounded as if Kerry was still walking with John on their journey. When they get to another point that seems to Kerry that John can never turn or escape from them, he now removed the second leg of the sandal.

He spoke to John and said somebody will come now to take you away because they want to use you for their ritual in their village. John wept, he could not turn back, so Kerry raised up his sandals as a symbol that he had broken their friendship. That is how the man took John away for the ritual in the village and Kerry returned home. Kerry made his own decision in giving his friend to the enemy. According to my story I am talking about we Christians of today, we allow Satan to rule us, the two friends I mention are the people of God and the angel of Satan. Satan is the main man who needed John for his ritual, when Satan needed to destroy the life of a believer, he used his angel to affect our decision making as a Christian.

Many people are under the bondage of Satan because of their decisions; Kerry took his own decision to destroy the friendship between him and John because of money and promotion. We are now living in a free world that allows individuals to decide which way to follow and that determines how our future will look like. When Jesus Christ was making his own decision, which liberated you and me from the law of sin and death, he took on the cross that washed away the curse from the day of Adam and Eve. Look how this innocent man cried on the cross for your pains to liberate you

“And Jesus cried out with a loud voice and breathed his last .Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom” (Mark 15:37-38)

That is a decision that sets you free.
