Poetry
Would you understand joy
If you'd never know pain?
Could you recognize sunshine
If you'd never seen rain?
Would laughter mean less
If you'd never known sorrow?
Would today mean more
If you had no tomorrow?
Would the day be as bright
If you'd never known night?
If it never were dark,
Would you comprehend light?
Could you learn to love goodness
Without any bad?
Appreciate happy
If you're never sad?
Adversity brings with it
All kinds of things;
Most surprising, I think
Are the heaven-bound wings
