And the never ending strife
Cause me to lose the peace and joy
You really meant for my life.

Now I just need some time
To refresh myself in You.
To put away all worldly things
And let Your sweet voice come through.

Why do I let life over power me
When I know I’ve handed it to You.
Why can’t I just take You at Your promise
Instead of worrying about what I can do.

You never said things would be easy
And I don’t expect it to be.
I just need to keep remembering
You promised to always be with me.

But I’m the one that turned away
To put my faith in me.
Now I must come with my pride broken
To ask You to put me where I need to be.
