At war with the silence
in shooting war of sound
Diversion performs it's violence...
breath of whispers never found

Why do I fear the silence?
Who might speak from river's edge?
What lurks beneath still waters
that sleeping tides might dredge?

And what dormant truths unknown
lie silent within me?
What shrouded freedoms roam
in shadowed mystery?

At war with the silence
in mind games practiced well
Oh...so fragile are the drones
chasing winds long past quelled

Couched in movement's action
Divine stillness suffers rape
The demise of introspection...
in robbery of potential fate

Masked Marauder's drunken dance
of "stop and hear...come and see!
Siren calls before us prance
on altars crying "thus proceed!"

At war with the silence
not facing one's own self
in fear of discovery
of who's altar we have knelt

At war with the silence....
Peace, the victim in loud defeat
So much self violence....
and still The Silence speaks.
