In regard to yesterday's, "Success may be only one bubble away,"
have you ever heard of the guy who kept making soda-pop recipes
that always failed and never sold? After making another failure that
he called 6Up, he totally gave up, little knowing how close to
success he really was. Perhaps our theme song should be, "I'm
forever blowing bubbles." Keep trying!

HAPPY JULY FOURTH! July 4th is always a celebration of our
birth as a nation. Even today we are still in a struggle to maintain
our freedom, and freedom is what America is all about. There are
those forces from within and without that would like to see our life
of freedom end.

When you gave your life in commitment to Christ, that day became
your spiritual July 4th. -- your spiritual birthday. Do you celebrate
it? I celebrate mine every day as I give thanks to God for my
wonderful life in Christ. But there are those outside of Christ who
would be willing to take away our freedoms in Christ, like the
recent flap over the Pledge of Allegiance. We, too, are in a
constant struggle.

2 Cor. 3:17 (nlt), "Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the
Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom." That means freedom to
serve God because of love, not freedom to do just as we please.
Freedom, national and spiritual, does carry with it certain
responsibilities.
