The seeds of Christ
Did you know that if you are a Christian believer, you are a seed of Christ, and that you have the ability to do everything that Jesus Christ did. How can this be, you may ask? Well, Galatians 6:7 tells us that, whatsoever a person sows, thatís what they are going to reap. God in His word is telling me that whatsoever I sow that same thing is what I am going to have. Now the only way that I can truly believe this is that God has to reap what He sows. Jesus tells us in John 12:24 Except a corn of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it will bring forth much fruit. Jesus is telling us that He is that corn of wheat, the seed that God the Father sowed into the ground and every Christian is the fruit came forth. That makes you a seed of Christ.
Now, did God reap exactly what He sowed. God sowed a Son into the earth. A Son that pleased Him, a Son that worked miracles in the lives of other people. A son that obeyed His every command. That is what God sowed. But what did He reap? He reaped what He sowed. You have the capability to do everything that Jesus did. Jesus even told His disciples that they would greater things than those that He Himself did. The primary reason that Jesus came to earth was to die for humanity. But while He was here blessed humanity in other ways. One of the ways that he blessed us is by showing us how to live for God. Jesus is our highest example of a Son. He did not come to be an example far beyond our reach, but to be obtainable example. Jesus trained twelve men called disciples to finish the work that He started. It would be a waste of time and energy to train men to do a task that it is impossible to do. Jesus never performed not one task that it is impossible for humanity to perform. Yes Peter walked on water.
I know that you cannot wait to ask the question of, why isnítí people doing what Jesus did? I will have to answer that question with another one. What causes fruit not to perform the purpose that it was grown for? The wrong environment. Grapes and Strawberries will not survive in Alaska nor in the Sahara Desert. We are in the wrong environment. Be not deceived, evil communications corrupt good manners...1 Corinthians 15:33 He that walks with wise men will himself become wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Yes, our environment does matter. So what kind of environment was Jesus a part of ?
When Jesus was just a boy, about twelve years of age became separated from His parents at a feast in Jerusalem. And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the Temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions. Even at a young age He kept Himself in a place where He could learn from Godís leaders, He was about His Fatherís business. Are you in church and about your Fatherís business? Next we are told by Luke in chapter 4 that Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Jesus allowed Himself to be filled with and led by the Holy Ghost. He did not go where wanted to go but was led by the Holy Spirit of God. Can that be said of you and me? Are are we in the wrong environment to be fruitful?
The writer Luke goes on to tell us in chapter 6 verse 12 Jesus went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer. Jesus was a person of prayer, even if it took all night. This is the right environment to be fruitful. We find Jesus speaking in the Gospel of Mark 6:7 Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, this people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Here Jesus quotes from the prophet Isaiah. Jesus knows His word. He is a student of the word. Jesus said in Luke 4:4 it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve, quoting from Deuteronomy 6:13 Jesus knows His word. Now I know that someone will tell me that Jesus knew all things. Jesus had the word of knowledge and the word of wisdom, gifts of the Spirit, the same gifts that are available to you and me. When Jesus was in the Temple at the age of twelve it is recorded that He was asking the teachers questions, not to test their knowledge for that would have be disrespectful to the elders, and He did things dissent and orderly.
We are told in Luke 2:40 that Jesus was filled with wisdom, if He was filled, then someone had to fill Him, He was not full. We are told in Luke 2:52 that Jesus increased in wisdom, if you have to increase then you do not have it all. You are the seed of Christ with the capabilities to do exactly what the corn of wheat did that produced you. I pray that you are the right environment.
