Faith is a gift from God
But only when it's received.
Hope grows from that faith
But only when it's believed.

God supplies us the faith
To put our lives into His hands
Knowing whatever comes our way
Neatly fits in God's eternal plans.

Our hope lies in the assurance
That Christ reigns forevermore
And our minds can't begin to comprehend
All the blessings He has for us in store.

The faith and hope God freely offers
At a time when all seems at a loss
Comes wrapped in the driving force
That lead Christ to die upon that cross.

For no other reason
Did the Son descend from above
Than to show a dark and dying world
The Father's deep and abiding love.

And though faith and hope are essential
One thing we occassionally need to be reminded of
Is that of all the gifts of the Father
The greatest of these is love.
