Marriage
I watched two squirrels on my walk today, they were so comical to see, for when they spotted me coming down the street, they were undecided on which way to flee.
They shifted first this way, and then doubled back, then came to a parting of their ways; for one ran quickly across the street, the other tried to be bold and stay.
But fear overcame him as I drew near, and he turned his back on me, and ran for his life across the grass, and stopped at the base of a tree.
Once he reached there, he seemed to disappear, the tree bark matched his fur so well, that had I not watched him run to that place, I would not have seen him there.
It reminded me of how I was before Jesus came and rescued me, hiding in fear against anything I could find, so that others could not really see.
Happiness seemed not to be mine, a life of joy a distant hope, and nothing I tried worked for very long, to fill my life and help me to cope.
Then came that day my hiding place was taken, Jesus stood there, waiting quietly, and as I approached, His voice so gentle and calm, whispered to my heart "I can set you free."
Could it be true, could I lay down my fear, and have a life of happiness?
Oh, yes, it was, and is to this day, for Jesus would give me no less.
He taught me to trust, to dare, to try, and brought me a life brand new, and when I was ready for joy and delight, that's when He brought me you!
No hiding now, you took my hand, and surrounded me with such tender care, that my heart was yours from that moment on, where you were, I wanted to be there.
I can't thank God enough for each new dawn, for the freshness of a day brand new, and for giving me the desire of my heart, for giving me such love in you.

Trish, this article blessed me to the CORE! It caused me to back up for a moment and view my life over the last few years... and the changes that have taken place within me. They truly are amazing. I knew, somewhere in the back of my mind, that the Lord was far too gracious to let me do what seemed to be "moving on with my life" until I was fully prepared. It is in looking back over it that I can see what a catastrophy it would have turned out to be if the Lord had allowed me to "move on" any sooner. Soon, perhaps, He will grant me my "soul mate" as well. Truly, He is most capable of "setting us free". Much joy.
