3 friends are wondering aimlessly from nowhere to nowhere with heavy burdens tied to their feet (anger, fear, depression). Each has a rock tied to them symbolizing their fault and it’s weighing them down Enter a girl headed to a party with only a balloon to carry.

(Depression Sits)

Anger: C’mon man!!?? What are you doing??!!

Depression: I’m so depressed, I can’t go on, I just feel this weight holding me back

Fear: Ok, let’s just stop here. I’m a little bit scared. This rock is following me and I don’t know where it came from.

Anger: You guys are so annoying! I wanna get there already and I’m sick & tired of being lost

Depression: Well, what’s the big hurry anyway? You get angry about everything. Am I not good enough to make you proud?

Fear: Where are we going?

Anger: Somewhere. Anywhere.

Depression: We’re going nowhere.

Fear: (breaks into tears)

Anger: Dude! You made him cry!

Depression: Great. One more thing to be depressed about.

Fear: I’m so scared! So scared!

Depression & Anger: (to depression) Shut up!!

Anger: You know, if you wouldn’t keep stopping to moap, we wouldn’t be lost anyway

Depression: What?! We’ve been lost since we came from…where did we come from?

Fear: (still crying) NOWHERE!!

Anger & Depression: Oh yeah

Anger: (to depression) Well?

Depression: Well?

Anger: Read the map or something (gives the map to him). I’m not gonna do everything, you know

Depression: I’ not good at maps…I’m not good at anything. Do you wanna make me more depressed than I already am? (burries his face in his hands)

Anger: Ugh! (takes map from him) Look, we came out of…where is it?

Depression: No where, it’s off the map, remember. It’s hopeless

(Fear starts to want to go to the bathroom)

Fear: Guys

(ignore him)

Anger: Your depression is gonna make me blow a vessel. Look.

(points at the map)

Fear: Guys…(they keep looking at map) Problem…Big Problem.

Anger: WHAT!!??

Fear: The chilly dog. Gotta-Go-Bathroom!

Depression: Where did you get a chilly dog?

Fear: (points at someone from audience)

Depression: (looks at the person Fear pointed to) Am I not good
enough for a chilly dog? Why? Why???!!!

Anger: Whatever. Go find a tree.

Fear: (just stands there)

Depression: I can't move. My heart is too heavy

Fear: (to anger) Come with me?

Anger: Are you stupid or something! No way!

Fear: Oh please! Please!! There could be a bear or a lion or a
monkey! Please, please, please.

Depression: I know how you feel. It’s tragic. I’ll go

Anger: And leave me here? Yeah right.

Fear: Let’s all go together.

Depression: Yes, lets. (they begin to drag their rocks in an
awkward way)

(in walks girl with balloon)

Happy: Woohoo! Yeeeeee! Yeehaw!! (As she plays)

Fear: (hides behind depression)

Anger: Who are you? What are you doing here? Get out of our
space.

Happy: sorry…what’s that? (about the rocks)

Depression: Our big heavy burdens. We can’t go on!

Fear: (the whole time awestruck & fearing the balloon) And that?

Happy: Oh, that’s my burden

Anger: Is it heavy?

Happy: Nah. It floats! (She pulls it down in front of them & lets
them watch it float, fear freaks out; all are amazed) I’m going to a party, You wanna come?

Depression: Do we need one of those to go?

Happy: Yeah

Anger: Hook us up?

Happy: Sure! First take these off. (with fear, helps him) It’s ok

(Fear is feeling good; the others watch & take it off themselves)

All: WoW! Feels good, my feet are so light, I can jump around

Happy: It gets better. (gives them a balloon) Here. (all start playing with balloons) Are you ready?

All: Ready!

Fear: I’m not scared anymore!!

Depression: Wow! A Party! How Exciting

Anger: Group Hug!!

All: Awwww(they begin to exit)

Fear: (off stage) I still have to go to the bathroom
