He restoreth my soul
- That' s Healing!
As the shepherd carefully nurses his sheep that may have sustained some injury from a bad fall, so the Lord nurses us, His sheep, when we fall and are hurt. He does not abandon us but restores our soul. He is the great Restorer Who restored Peter, in spite of he denying Him thrice. He is the Great Physician Who rises over us with healing in His wings. He heals us of all our diseases according to Psalm103. By His stripes we were healed.(1Pet2:24) Jesus Was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power and went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. (Acts10:38)
Healing is the bread of the children. So if you are a child of God, healing is your inheritance. His word to you is that, 'There is balm in Gilead.' I am the Lord that heals you.
On the other hand, if you have fallen in any way, God is waiting to restore you. All you need to do is to repent with all your heart. We are told that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1John1:9)
Remember the story of the prodigal son. He broke the heart of his dad when he requested his inheritance and left home. Daily his father looked out for him through the window, wandering when he would come back home.
And on the day he came back home after squandering all his inheritance, his father saw him afar off and ran to meet him. Next was a great celebration. The fatted cow was slaughtered and there was sing, dining and dancing. ‘
Listen to his father, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. Kill the calf we have been fattening in the pen. We must celebrate with feast, for this son of mine was dead and has returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. What a restoration!
No matter how far you are, just come as you are. At the cross there is room for you.
"Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool (Isa1:18)
This is mind blowing, isn't it?
It is the abundant goodness, the extra-ordinary patience of God.
He is the great Healer and Restorer.
