THE SONGWRITER

Killing me gently Lord, with Your song
Surely, it's to You all my hopes belong
Father, be forever my heart's desire
Consume me softly with Holy Fire

Eternal melodies strike earthly chords
Play my life sweetly Precious Lord
Strum strings of compassion others may hear
Your lyrics touching lives so very dear

Music from Your throne pierces the darkness
Healing songs of of deliverance softens hardness
Love notes penetrating the hidden places
Praise arises in response to tunes of grace

One day the world will be filled with Your Glory
Trees of the forest will sing forth Your story
The hopes and prayers of countless dreams
finally realized in Your song that we sing!
