A Vision of Prophets and Children of God

Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a PROPHET among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a VISION, And I speak to him in a DREAM.” (Numbers 12:6)
WHEN I read the above verse today, it dawned on me that a prophet’s ministry involves hearing from God through dreams and visions. This means that there will be more and more prophets in our days and some of us have receive the gift of prophecy unaware! As written in Acts 2:16 – 18:-
“But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
And on My manservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.’ ”
In Numbers 12, God summons Moses, Aaron and Miriam to the tabernacle of meeting because both Aaron and Miriam has spoken against Moses. God asserts in Numbers 12:7 – 8 that Moses has a closer relationship to Him than that of a prophet:-
“Not so with My servant Moses;
He is faithful in all My house.
I speak with him face to face,
Even plainly, and not in dark sayings:
And he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid
To speak against My servant Moses?”
Moses is indeed blessed of God and even appeared alongside Elijah at our Lord Jesus’ transfiguration on the Mount. (Matthew 17:2, 3) Peter is so enthused that he wants to build three tabernacles there for them.
Through Christ’s redemptive work at Calvary, we have the opportunity to be a tabernacle of God. Hebrews 3:5,6 says, “And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, WHOSE HOUSE WE ARE IF we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”
Verily, the kingdom of God is within us. As Jesus said in John 14:23b, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR HOME with him.” So, when we say we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we are cleansing our own temple and establishing His Lordship over our life, presenting our life (100 percent) as a living sacrifice.
Thank God for His love! “IN THIS THE LOVE OF GOD was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. IN THIS IS LOVE, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.” (1 John 4:9 – 11)
Needful as it is, even prophecy will cease one day. “LOVE NEVER FAILS. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)
Our Papa God (Abba Father) calls us to be His children afresh, our rightful heritage, restoring what the devil has tried to steal. Paul said in Ephesians 3:14 –15 that the whole family in heaven and earth is named from the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called CHILDREN OF GOD! (1 John 3:1a)
It’s time for us to know the truth of God’s word and measure up to what God sees of us. Our warped image of ourselves will simply have to be dismantled for good. Remember, the truth of God’s word cannot set us free unless we know it, speak forth, and live it out. Let’s get into the Word of God and receive our Father’s full backing!
