Can I Call You Daddy?
Little girls and daddies can make the world go ‘round
Through her eyes he hangs the moon and splashes the stars across the sky
His little angel her knight in shining armor
He chases the shadows and she depends on his care
His job as father is not simple
To model, teach and love
To direct her into womanhood
To show her the right way to be treated
To model how men are to behave
To love her with strong arms
To teach her of the dangers, yet shielding her with grace.
But what happens if this falls apart
As so often it does
The knight’s armor is tarnished
The sky holds no stars
The love she longs for is replaced by bitterness
Anger and sometimes hate.
The direction she needs is often misguided
Shadows remain
And the image of man is stained
So she spends her years traveling down a weary road
In search of someone, to replace the one she longed to call her own
A path filled with broken dreams and failed plans
Ideas beyond reason; tormented with the image of man
But there is One greater
For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear (1)
One who knows exactly where she is
Behold I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands (2)
He knew the moment she was formed and grafted the perfect plan
He waits patiently in the shadows as she searches for her dad
She may not utter the words but it’s easy to see
Can I call you daddy? Will you take care of me?
She searches and comes up empty
A vast emptiness in her soul
She only wanted a daddy
And was left out in the cold.
Until the moment she understands whom she’s been searching for
A father to the fatherless (3)
The substance that fills the emptiness, the answer to her call
Awareness and awakening to the creator of the plan
The perfect image of her dream the model of a man
But ye hath received the spirit of adoption (4)
The perfect family plan
The tarnish on her image fades
The armor back in place
Can I call you daddy?
Whereby we cry, Abba Father. (5)

I had to sit here as I read and shake my head... not knowing whether to weep for the fatherless or to rejoice for having been found by my Father. How you ministered to the depths of my soul! YES! YEEEESS and AMEN! I think that we all (who serve Almighty God) call Him “Father God.” But oh, how He shows Himself truly Abba Father to the fatherless! This I know! I want to reach out to those who are NOT fatherless in this world to tell them, “I NEEDED my father and I had not. And yet, I tell you, KNOW MY ABBA FATHER and you will find, no matter how GOOD your father was/is, you have not known the love of a father until you have known MY ABBA, ABBA, ABBA FATHER!” Ah, sorry Sis... choked up a little just typing this one. Yes... to the depths of my soul!!
Dear Jounda, When a child of ours realizes that they do indeed have their Godly Daddy they can finally realize how precious and loved they are. Mark once cried out in anquish and fear..."I want a DAD!!" Oh blessings prayed for our children, and for you dear friend.
