Three teenage friends are standing in the hallway talking when another student walks by bumping one of the other students, and an argument pursues. The three friends say cruel things to hurt the girl’s feelings and to make others laugh at her. She’s hurt so much that she wants to end her life, but a friend steps in to help her see that there is more to come.
Introduction: This skit is to show how cruel children can be to one another and how it can affect them. It is to encourage children to always be kind to one another and willing to give an encouraging word and always be willing to help out a friend.
Sandra: I wish we didn’t have to come back to school.
Pam: Me too. I want to stay home and sleep all day.
Sandra: What did you get for Christmas?
Pam: Girl, I got my cell phone and a bunch of new outfits. What did you get?
Sandra: They got me a car, girlfriend.
Pam: What did you get?
John: You can’t see me bling-blinging with my gold grill?
Sandra: Bling-bling!
Jane: Excuse me.
Sandra: Excuse you? Didn’t you see us standing here talking?
Jane: I said, “Excuse me.”
Pam: Excuse me ain’t enough. Apologize.
Jane: I’m sorry, good grief.
John: That ain’t enough because you said it with attitude. Don’t walk off from us.
Jane: Who do you think you are?
Sandra: No, what do you think you are? You are nobody with your run over shoes and tore up from the floor up body and hair. What kind of shoes are those? Where did you get them? Wal-Mart?
Pam: More like Goodwill.
(Jane runs off to her friends crying)
Judy: Jane, what’s wrong?
Jane: I hate school! I hate my life! I hate everybody!
Judy: What are you talking about? What happened?
Jane: They are always making fun of me. Why can’t I have nice clothes and shoes? Why do I have to be poor?
Judy: Jane, they are no better than you.
Jane: Yes, they are. God loves them more than He does me.
Judy: Jane, that’s not true. God loves us all the same.
Jane: No, He doesn’t. I’m gonna kill myself. I’m tired of living this kind of life.
Judy: What?!?
Jane: I am! Today!
Judy: Jane, you can’t kill yourself because people make fun of you. They made fun of Jesus. Jane, this is not the end of your life; it’s only the beginning. At least you already know how to live without fancy clothes. They are living off of their parents, but when they become adults, they will have to provide for themselves; and, they may not be able to afford the same expensive clothes and shoes. It will be hard for them to survive, but you already know how to make-do. Girl, God has so much more in store for you, but you’ve got to hold on and wait for Him to bring you into your place of destiny. This is not your place of destiny. Don’t give up.
