We thank God for each grandparent,
Who their faith with us did share.
They were God's crucial instrument
Though whom we could feel your care.

Thank you for their loving kindness,
Their great generosity.
Thank you for their loving blindness
To the faults all others see.

2.
Thank you God for those like Lois,
Who influenced Timothy.
Let the light from her life show us
What each grandparent can be.

We can be channels of your love
In this dark world here below.
We can be on God's hand the glove
That can soften sorrows blow.

3.
We can be a source of comfort,
And a source of great delight,
When the culture starts to distort,
We can set life's values right.

We can sing that Jesus loves me
To each grandchild in our care.
We can help them God's great truths see,
And to seek God's best in prayer.
