Galatians 6:9

(NIV)

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

This verse reminds me of a story about a young man who was a preacher and loved to preach on Facebook each time he logged on it. Almost every week he would post devotionals for those who enjoy learning and expanding their knowledge in their spiritual maturity. One day he slowly gave up on preaching and posted stories about his encounters with those he met at his workplace. Seeking the joy of a sinful life and reversing himself in the process. One of his stories spoke about his encounter with a gentleman who asked him a question. He felt negative towards the gentleman and poked fun at his comments he made to him. A young lady who was on his friend's list on Facebook saw his post and responded to it. She stated that "For a Christian, you are quick to cast the first stone"! She quickly posted that remark and unfriended him.

Now, when this young man came home from work and logged on to that website. He saw her post and quickly got upset over it. He didn't appreciate her comment and responded negatively to it. Hate on Hate was the route he took. A little time went by and he found himself reflecting on her comment. For he felt that he was wrong, but that something else had transformed as well. Talking with a lady who he was dating at the time and she told him something that jogged his mind in realizing the error he was stumped on. She told him, "you were wrong for posting a rude and childish story that showed nothing of God in that you failed in your walk"! Also, she added, "that young lady was wrong as well". Instead of telling you of your mistake and still trying to work out a friendship, she just departed from it. That young man realized that his efforts were in vain because of the corruption he placed in his selfish desires.

His thoughts were focused on pleasing a crowd that really had no reward to be given. Yes, he could be popular for that brief time in stating a sinful lifestyle and promoting evil to others to follow. But he realized that his gift of preaching the gospel was more important and reflects a crop that can grow. That he must work hard, as nothing in life is easy, for then anyone could do it. He was free in Christ, and that crop he was working hard to sow will one day appear to him. That crop of eternal life that Christ offers to those who believe and give their lives to in obedience towards the savior who freed them of sin. His post that he wrote and posted of Christian topics. Was encouraging others to flock to Christ, going to church more, reading the bible more, and in all avenues of their lives, Christ was reaching in them. For God revealed that to him one day,  and seeing the fruits of his labor in his writings of Christ. That young lady who unfriended him should have responded as Christ did with the lady who committed adultery.

As Christ stated in John 8:7, So when they continued asking Him, He lifted Himself up and said unto them, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” We are all with sin and none should cast a stone. That young man who mocked a gentleman in his post and the young lady who scolded him and unfriended him for his rude story should never have cast a stone. We are all our brother's keepers and should take great effort to help those who fall from Christ. Telling our brothers and sisters where we did wrong and how to improve themselves in seeking Christ once more.

Love is the important ingredient that encourages that and prays for each other. Don't be quick to judgment in bashing your brothers and sisters in Christ. Our judgment should be to improve and assist others when we speak to others, not to condemn and depart. The same measurement will be used on you as well. We all have fallen in our walk with Christ, but why condemn others, when we too have a log in our eye. Remember my friends, hate can't defeat hate, only love can win out. I love you all and God bless!
