Prophecy

I have been reading through Genesis and Exodus again and just finished the episode of the Golden Calf. It certainly makes me wonder if there isn't something very prophetic about that story. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the 2 stone tablets, he found the Israelites sacrificing to the Golden Calf. When Moses comes down from heaven to Jerusalem (with Elijah, in about 3 years, I think) will he find the Orthodox Jews sacrificing to God at their Golden Temple, where the Golden Dome of the Rock currently is? I don't know if the 4th (mistakenly called the 3rd) Jewish Temple will be completed by then, but it might be. I do believe that the Jews will shortly sacrifice a Red Heifer (an Auburn Female Calf) and then start their daily regular sacrifice: 1 lamb at sunset and 1 lamb at sunrise. I actually expect that to start very soon, perhaps around this coming Passover. We'll see if I am right or wrong. Of course, these coming sacrifices and 4th Temple will be abominations to God, because they will be a rejection of the once and for all sacrifice of Messiah Jesus.

 

The story of Elijah at Mount Carmel also involves false, idolatrous worship--of Baal, a god often associated with a bull. So, it makes perfect sense that Moses and Elijah will be preaching Messiah Jesus in the midst of false Jewish worship.

 

Keep your eyes open. Very hard, strange and, yet, exciting times in which we live right now.
