You Sadducees and you Pharisees-
How time keeps marching on,
Silk flowered scarves and costly ties
So proudly you now don.

These vipers grow long trunks-
These snakes have donkey ears,
They spit out venom as they grunt
And live off all your fears.

They all wish to be seated-
At the front of banquet halls,
These whores seek high positions
Want honor-one and all.

They all wish to be seen-
As the saviour of your life,
Their promises-redundant lies
Their speeches shed no light.

The yokes they place on others-
Exempt themselves from pain,
Spigots of lies flow freely
To validate their claims.

They love their lofty positions-
To preach to naive choirs,
The words of these hypocrites
Just stoke up wildfires.

Their outstretched arms reach for love-
But blow back kisses of hate,
The cries of needy masses
Not heard-They'll have to wait.

These gods of endless deception-
Wave trunks and kick up heels,
Their maddening sounds only mask
What they slyly deal and steal.

These false,ungodly rulers-
Never learn from past mistakes,
They point long boney fingers
The blame they can not take.

You Sadducees and you Pharisees-
A scapegoat you all need,
No love of God stands in your way
Of power lust and greed.
