The Adventures of Rusty and Dusty-Surfing the Waves of The Living Spirit.

"Body-surfing with Rusty and Dusty" (Story delivered from the Kingdom on High-Written by Laurie Lynn Leiding)

This is a story about two dogs named Rusty and Dusty. They're the best of friends and took many adventures together. These two wonderful dogs had seen many great and amazing things as they travelled the world. Returning with many stories to share with their family and friends and all who gathered to sit and listen. Rusty the great and courageous, St Bernard and his best-friend Dusty the gentle yet brave Golden Retriever.

These adventures were full of mystery and secrets from the places from afar. The things they had seen and the things that they had done were incredible and their family and friends from far and wide would wait with anticipation to hear of the great and mystical stories they would bring back with them.

This is another adventurous story of two brave and courageous dogs that had to go and discover all that the world had to offer.  They had heard of the many stories shared by the old pioneer dogs from the days of old. The Great Danes, the Great Pyrenes, the Boxers, the Shepherds and the Beagles and Pugs were just a few of the great and mighty dogs where many books have been written about.  Heroes that have left a legacy behind.

Today was a very special day for Rusty and Dusty. They had planned for another adventure together.  They had read the stories about the pioneers that learned what many would only dream about but not have the courage to do. Body-surfing on the great waves of the crimson blue waters of the Pacific, Maui style!

Not many would be able to master this kind of sport that has been around for hundreds or perhaps even a thousand years.  Learning to ride this great and mysterious wave would be a challenge and a great risk but it would be well worth it!

They had spent a lot of time on the shores watching those other dogs riding the waves of the sea, a skill that not many had mastered or would choose to try to learn. Those who step into these waters, were willing to take the risk of being tossed to and fro from the waves of the deep blue sea. Fearless dogs who would even challenge the great waves that would rise as high as they could to try and throw them off their high backs. These great water dogs had mastered  the waves mysteries and certain styles and rarely would you witness one of them being tossed off.

Rusty and Dusty had purchased their own surfing boards and they were now ready to step out into the Pacific waters and do what the great old waters dogs could do. They were up for the challenge!

Often, they would pack a lunch and lay out a blanket and sit on the sidelines, to watch and learn from those who have gone before them. Taking a great risk to do the things that they also had seen others do from times past. They were risk takers and this was the life they chose to live because they saw it as a great adventure to share with all those who knew them.

These special dogs had chosen to leave behind all that they had learned and trained to do, by man himself, to learn the things that no man in all his ways could do. These waters seemed alive and you could almost see hands coming out of the tip of the waves, if you looked beyond the physical.  Like these waters were a living and breathing Spirit.

Those who had gone before them often shared stories about the mysteries of this beautiful and majestic Spirit that lived within the waters of the sea. Others had also saw what looked like a mighty hand, coming out of from within the deep of it, scooping up the many living creatures that had been hidden from the depths of the sea.

These old dogs, the pioneers from the past, would often be seen sitting together on top of the waters and calling out to the One, called "I Am". Waiting and watching in anticipation to see what He would then do with the swift of His great big and mighty hand.

"Show us a whale or show us a dolphin!" They would call out to Him. "Show us a big fish or just show us something amazing" The rest would shout back at Him.

Then from out of the deep, would rise His mighty hand that had scooped up a pod of Spinner or Bottlenose dolphins, a school of beautiful tropical fish or a group of humpback whales.

You would first start to see a stirring and a whirling then a ripple on the surface of these Hawaiian waters. Watching in anticipation for what was hidden deep below.  What would it be this time, the great old dogs would ask themselves.  Shouting and giving each other a high-five when what was once hidden was now seen to them all.

Cheering out to the One, who was known as the great "I Am". These old pioneer dogs would be overwhelmed yet again by the things that He could do when they just asked and believed.

“Yahoo!” Shouted Dusty as he kneeled on his knees to ride the wave of the mighty big sea. Rusty watching her bestie do the things that he had only dreamed of doing in the past. She was so excited for Dusty. Now it was her turn to do what she saw her old dog Dusty do. Would she have the courage and faith to believe that this was also possible for her too?

She paddles further out before another wave comes, time was ticking. The race to beat this next wave was on! She makes it! Now comes the greatest wave she has ever seen come, and she rises on to the top of it with her board. Dusty is watching and cheering her on with the rest of the old pioneer water dogs. Slowly pulling herself up on her knees to ride as her Dusty dog had learned to do, she was now surfing the wave like him and the others had learned to do. She has taken up the challenge, risking all to now learn and master only a few handful had mastered. Riding the greatest wave in history, the “Great I Am”.

Now Dusty wants to ride the same great wave with Rusty, joining together as One, to ride the next great big wave of the Spirit, known as the great “I Am” in the beautiful and tropical crimson blue seas of Maui, Hawaii.  The two are now surfing side by side, laughing and shouting to the Master of the Great Big Sea, the Big I Am.  “Look at us! Look at us!” They bellow out in hopes that the eye of the wave would be watching and rejoicing with them.  When suddenly Rusty loses his footing, and tumbles off the board.  Dusty starts to panic and cries out to him and wants to jump off and go and help him get back on.  Then out of the great wave, the great voice speaks and says to Dusty “Fear Not! For I Am with Him. Do not be worried for I will strengthen him and help him. I will lift him up with my mighty righteous hand” Rusty must keep riding the wave, for she must be strong herself and keep going even when things seem too tough.  She must trust the Great Teacher who is the Great Wave of the Great Sea.  He has always promised to be with all the dogs who come to learn of Him and His ways and how to keep their focus on Him and riding His mighty great wave.  Suddenly she sees His powerful right hand lift Rusty up, including his board and gently places him back down onto the same wave that Dusty has managed to stay balanced on.  Now Together they would surf the waves of the Pacific…. Maui style and together, would enjoy another great adventure, which will be another great story that only a few could write about.
